Who sells Panasonic heat pumps in New Zealand?

Panasonic New Zealand markets its heat pumps and air conditioners directly under the Panasonic name and sells them through installers and retailers. You will also see Panasonic units offered as installed packages by some larger retailers. Whichever route you take, confirm who does the installation and who you call if something goes wrong.

NZ Heat Pumps sells fixed-price heat pump installs, done by a contracted installer. We are not affiliated with any heat pump brand and aren't paid by brands. We have not tested these units ourselves; everything on this page comes from the brand's NZ information and the independent sources listed below.

Which Panasonic ranges are available in NZ?

What is nanoe X and is it worth paying for?

nanoe X is Panasonic's air purification technology built into many of its indoor units. Panasonic says it can run independently of heating or cooling, 24 hours a day. It is a feature of the indoor unit, not a replacement for ventilation or a dehumidifier in a damp home. Judge a Panasonic quote on sizing, efficiency and installation first, then treat nanoe X as a bonus.

What does the Panasonic warranty cover in NZ?

Panasonic NZ advertises a 5-year warranty on its heat pumps and air conditioners covering both residential and commercial use. Like other manufacturer warranties it covers defects in the equipment, and owners are expected to operate and maintain the unit as the instructions describe. Ask your installer for the warranty card for your model and read the conditions before you sign.

How do independent surveys rate Panasonic?

In Canstar Blue's 2026 Most Satisfied Customers survey for heat pumps, Panasonic received 3 stars for overall satisfaction. Daikin received 5 stars, and Mitsubishi Electric and Haier 4 stars. Consumer NZ's member-only test results include Panasonic models and are worth checking if you are choosing between specific units.

Which homes suit a Panasonic heat pump?

  • Homes where several bedrooms or rooms need heating without ducting, using a multi-split with up to five indoor units.
  • Households wanting app control out of the box: many current models have built-in Wi-Fi for Comfort Cloud.
  • Rooms that suit a recessed floor console, which Panasonic offers in exposed, semi-recessed and recessed mounting options.

What should you check on a Panasonic quote?

  • The exact model code. Panasonic has sold several generations of Aero models in NZ, and older stock may still be offered.
  • The rated heating capacity, not just the cooling figure in the model name.
  • Where the outdoor unit goes and whether the quote includes brackets, a condensate drain and electrical work.
  • If you are considering a multi-split, remember all indoor units share one outdoor unit and must run in the same mode. Our multi-split heat pumps page explains the trade-offs.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the warranty on Panasonic heat pumps in NZ?

Panasonic New Zealand advertises a 5-year warranty on its air conditioning products, covering residential and commercial use. Conditions apply, so read the warranty card for your model.

What app controls Panasonic heat pumps?

Panasonic uses the Comfort Cloud app. Many current models have Wi-Fi built in; check your model's specifications.

How many rooms can a Panasonic multi-split heat?

Panasonic's NZ multi-split system connects up to 5 indoor units to one outdoor unit, with heating capacity up to 14.5 kW.
