Are Fujitsu heat pumps still sold in New Zealand?
Yes. After Fujitsu General Limited was acquired in 2025, the New Zealand business changed its name from Fujitsu General New Zealand to GENERAL New Zealand, effective 1 January 2026. It continues to sell heat pumps under the Fujitsu and GENERAL AIRSTAGE brands and says it will move away from the Fujitsu name gradually. If a quote says GENERAL AIRSTAGE, it is the same company's product line.
NZ Heat Pumps sells fixed-price heat pump installs, done by a contracted installer. We are not affiliated with any heat pump brand and aren't paid by brands. We have not tested these units ourselves; everything on this page comes from the brand's NZ information and the independent sources listed below.
Which Fujitsu / GENERAL AIRSTAGE ranges are available?
The NZ residential range is split into single-room solutions (wall-mounted, floor and ceiling units) and whole-home ducted systems. For installed price bands, see our heat pump cost guide.
| Range | Type | What it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Lifestyle range | High-wall | Living areas and bedrooms; works with the anywAiR Wi-Fi Adaptor II |
| Compact Floor Console | Floor console | Rooms without a good high wall; asthma and allergy-aware approved |
| Floor/Ceiling Dual Console | Floor or ceiling | Rooms where the unit can go low on a wall or under the ceiling |
| Whole-home ducted | Ducted | Heating the whole home from one concealed indoor unit, with anywAiR zone control |

What does the Fujitsu / GENERAL warranty cover?
GENERAL New Zealand gives a 6-year full parts and labour warranty on residential single-room, multi-room and ducted systems installed by a GENERAL AIRSTAGE Accredited Installer, and a 5-year warranty when installed by someone else. The warranty covers manufacturing faults in homes in New Zealand, provided the unit is installed in line with the installation manual and warranty card.
How do independent surveys rate Fujitsu?
Canstar Blue's 2026 Most Satisfied Customers survey for heat pumps gave Fujitsu 3 stars for overall satisfaction (research finalised November 2025). Consumer NZ's member-only tests also cover Fujitsu models. Satisfaction ratings are averages across many owners and installers, so they are one input rather than the deciding factor.
Which homes suit a Fujitsu heat pump?
- Households who want a longer warranty and can find a local Accredited Installer.
- Homes with allergy or asthma concerns considering a floor console, where the Compact Floor Console is approved as asthma and allergy-aware.
- Whole-home ducted projects wanting zone control from a wall touchpad or the anywAiR app.
What should you check on a Fujitsu quote?
- Whether the installer is a GENERAL AIRSTAGE Accredited Installer, and therefore whether you get 5 or 6 years of cover.
- Whether a Wi-Fi adaptor is included if you want app control.
- The rated heating capacity and Energy Rating Label stars for the exact model quoted.
- Whether older stock with Fujitsu-only branding carries the same warranty terms. Ask the installer to confirm.
